Treatment Plant maintenance and installation across West Sussex

How does a treatment plant work?

A treatment plant is a more environmentally friendly solution to septic tanks. This cleaner process uses mechanical components to help break down solids to form an effluent that’s 95% clean and approved by the Environment Agency.

Sewage and wastewater is fed into what’s known as a primary settlement tank, which separates the solids and liquids before entering into the Biozone chamber.  A pump in the treatment plant’s Biozone chamber aerates the waste which encourages good bacteria to digest the organic matter. This purifies the waste and breaks it down ready to progress in to the Humus chamber where it is then discharged in to local watercourses, ditches or land drainage systems.

It is recommended that you should complete your treatment plant maintenance every 6-12 months to ensure all mechanical and electrical components are fully operational. Over time there will also be a build-up of sludge that naturally accumulates during the process. Our professional waste management team can clean your treatment plant to ensure it continues to operate effectively.
